Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I participate?
  • To gain control over the cost of your primary care service.
  • To gain control over the types of services you receive regardless of whether or not the insurance industry thinks they are prudent.
  • To create a posture of proactive/preventative healthcare for you and your family.
  • To create budget consistency for you and your Provider(s).
  • To stop worrying about the cost of going to the Doctor.  It is planned and paid for in advance.  All you have to do is go.  No checkbook, credit cards, etc.  Simple, easy and efficient.
  • Can’t I do this myself?
  • It is very possible that you could.  However, we have built a process that provides for the payment of multiple providers from a single payment to us.  This makes it very easy for you to direct and control all of your healthcare expenses.  Since there is no cost for you to participate why not take advantage of our services?
  • What kind of services can be paid through this program?
  • At this point in time we are making our services available to all of those providers who are used at the primary level of healthcare.  This includes but is not limited to Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors, Eye Doctors, Veterinarians, etc.  There are some specialists who provide regular maintenance services that may also want to participate.
  • What if my Doctor is not currently participating?
  • Then ask them to participate.  Print a copy of our registration form and take it to your Provider.  Visit with them about the services that best fit your needs and propose a monthly payment program for those services.  Have your Provider call us or direct them to our website.  We will answer their questions and get them setup so you can start receiving the services that best fit your needs.
  • Why would my Doctor like the Valorcare payment program?
  • One of the greatest challenges any medical office faces is getting paid.  The process of billing for medical services is extremely complex and cumbersome.  As a result it produces fluctuations in cash flow that often cripple a practice.  Our service was built to provide a consistent stream of cash flow for the provider there by removing one of the biggest headaches in their business.  Would you participate in a program that solved one of your biggest problems?
  • Our program also allows the Provider to work directly with the Patient to offer services that may or may not be considered approved by the insurance industry.  We know you will be pleasantly surprised with the additional services you doctors can offer when the insurance company is no longer driving the decision making process.
  • What if I move, change Provider(s), or my Provider leaves?
  • This is a very tough question.  Ideally, your Provider(s) will refund any unused balance which you can then use to setup a new program with your new Provider(s).  However, the best quality in healthcare comes with a relationship built over time.  The longer a Provider knows you the more beneficial they become in understanding your changing healthcare needs.
  • In the event the Provider refuses to refund an unused balance or suddenly closes their doors, the Provider / Client Agreement stipulates arbitration via a third party to resolve these issues.
  • What happens to me if I run up a bill and then quit the program?
  • This is also a very tough question.  In the event you find it necessary to stop paying for services you have already received then the first step for the provider is to proceed with arbitration via a third party as mentioned above.
  • Ultimately you are responsible for payment of the services you have received.  The Provider / Client Agreement allows the Provider to immediately proceed with formal collection efforts if they deem it is necessary to receive payment for the services they have provided.
  • What if I have insurance?
  • If you are fortunate enough to have decent health insurance then you may not want to participate in this program.  However, if your Valorcare program is properly structured the end result will be no different whether you pay for services monthly or in accordance with your health insurance policy.  In the Valorcare program you will be able to receive services that may not be permitted by your insurance.  This means better quality care for you but it also means you will receive services that must be paid for directly.
  • As health insurance programs limit first dollar benefits and raise the deductibles you may soon find yourself paying a hefty insurance premium and still paying directly for the majority of your primary care expenses.  If you are in that situation now then it only makes sense to participate in our program and put some budgetary control to your primary healthcare expenses.
  • What about CoPays?
  • A CoPay provision in a health insurance contract is a part of what health insurance companies refer to as “first dollar benefits” or “first dollar costs”.  Some policies are increasing the first dollar benefits which are great for those with these policies.  However, most insurance programs are decreasing the first dollar benefits and increasing the deductibles.  Additionally, wellness and preventative treatment programs are being inserted into the first dollar benefit mix which further dilutes the CoPay benefit.
  • With the Valorcare program we show providers how to price their services and structure your programs so the end cost each year is no different than what you would have paid in CoPay payments.  The Provider will bill your insurance but direct the payment(s) to you.  In the Valorcare program you don’t need to make a CoPay payment at the time of the visit.
  • How do I pay for this program?
  • We recommend and encourage all participants to use payroll deduction for Valorcare payments.  Additionally, we can process a credit or debit card, HSA card, flex plan allocation, or direct withdrawal from your bank.
  • How often can I change my payment method/tool?
  • As often as you like.
  • Won’t this be a hassle for my employer?
  • We will work hard to make sure it is not.  If you elect to use payroll deduction for your Valorcare payment then we will work with your employer to setup a easy, convenient monthly payment using the payment tool of their choice.
  • Additionally, we will be working with many employers who have been unable to provide health insurance to introduce a primary care program via Valorcare.  We believe our program providers employers with a means of providing you a benefit they have been unable to afford in the past.
  • As an employer could I offer this as a benefit to my employees?
  • Certainly.  In fact we are hoping to encourage many employers to offer $50 to $100 per month for their employees to pay for their primary medical expenses.  Especially employers who want to provide a benefit but have found insurance to be to expensive.  This is a great way to help keep your employees and their families healthy.
  • Can I use my HSA or Flex plan to pay these services?
  • Yes
  • What about Prescriptions?
  • We would be happy to work with your pharmacy to setup the Valorcare program.
  • What about Emergency Care?
  • The Valorcare program was built for primary care expenses.  A trip to the emergency room is generally considered catastrophic care.  However, if as a result of your trip to the emergency room you now have a monthly payment and you would like us to include it with your other payments we would be happy to do so.  This type of inclusion will be handled on an individual basis.
  • Will the Health Care reform passed in March of 2010 do away with this program?
  • No.  The Health Care reform measures passed by the United States government in 2010 even further threaten to drive primary care providers out of the medical profession.  Because of this it is even more vital now than ever before that programs like Valorcare be implemented to help us keep quality providers in the processes.  This is such a complex issue that we have created a separate page just for these questions.  Please click on the HC Reform button for further information.
